This past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Gold Coast 500. It was my second time attending, and once again, I was surprised by the crowd turnout. This event felt like a warm up to the racing events scheduled for next year, like the Melbourne Grand Prix and other upcoming F1 events.

Set against a sun and surf backdrop, the Gold Coast 500 is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the spirit of supercar racing and automotive culture in general. The energy was amazing—people were soaking up the hot weather, enjoying the atmosphere, and there was a real buzz among everyone there.

Every time I arrive at the event, I’m taken aback by the sheer sound of the cars when they hit the track. It’s so loud. Louder even than the Melbourne Grand Prix! The sound, combined with how close you can stand to the action behind the fences, really brings you right into the experience. No matter where you watch from, it feels like the best seat in the house.

One of the main draws of the Gold Coast 500 is the iconic V8 Supercars and the prestigious Porsche Carrera Cup. There’s nothing quite like the sound and power these cars bring to life on the track.

The Gold Coast weather also played its part, with sunny skies making the whole event feel even more appealing. Being able to watch the action up close, surrounded by the ocean breeze and excited fans, made for an ideal setting to capture some standout shots of the cars.

Aside from the racing itself, the event was packed with on-track entertainment, adding to the already vibrant atmosphere. There was plenty of food, activities, and live shows that kept things interesting between races. The event captures what’s great about the Gold Coast—sunshine, a lively crowd, and a strong sense of community. It’s an experience that keeps me looking forward to coming back each year.

Looking back on these two days, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation for the Melbourne Grand Prix. The Gold Coast 500 was a fantastic experience, capturing the thrill, beauty, and energy that defines motorsport.
